Popularly known as the ‘Steel City’, Jamshedpur is the largest city in Jharkhand. The city had been carefully thought and aesthetically planned with an appealing infrastructure and landscape. Juxtaposed against the beautiful Dalma Hills, Jamshedpur is the world's eighth-largest steel manufacturing company, along with being India's first planned city. The town of Jamshedpur was named after Jamshedji Tata in 1919. With its industrial growth, Jamshedpur has made its place in the map of world business along with playing a crucial role in industrializing India. The Founder’s Day of Jamshedpur is celebrated on October 3 every year at Jubilee Park, which is decked up with lights and colours for the occasion.

• Dimna Lake – The Dimna Lake is an artificial lake in Mirzadih Panchayat of Patamda Block. It is surrounded by a variety of flora. It is situated at the foot hill of Dalma hills. The whole of the city of Jamshedpur gets its water supply from this lake, which was built by Tata Steel.
• Jubilee Park – Jubilee Park isone of the biggest parks in the country and is spread on a sprawling campus of 237.75 acres. The park was inaugurated in the year 1956 and includes a lush green landscape, an amusement park, skating ring and a horticulture garden which contains a wide variety of plant species.
• Tata Steel Zoological Park – It is a part of the Jubilee Park, located inside, the Tata Steel Zoological Park is an unkempt zoo which is a sanctuary for wildlife in its natural habitat.
• Dalma Wildlife Sanctuary – Established in the year 1975, the Dalma Wildlife Sanctuary is situated at an altitude of 3000 feet and has an extremely wide variety of the rarest of the species of fauna, like tigers, leopards, elephants, barking deer etc.
• Hudco Lake – Hudco Lake was constructed artificially in the beautiful surroundings of the TELCO Colony. It is situated near a park which also houses an artificial waterfall that uses the water of the lake.
• Russi Modi Centre of Excellence – Located just outside of the Jubilee Park, the Russi Modi Centre for Excellence houses various professional organizations in Jamshedpur. The building was designed by Hafeez Contractor and is considered to be one of the most beautiful buildings in Jamshedpur.
• Bhatia Park – Bhatia Park is a beautiful park with extremely wide space and lush greenery. It is situated on the banks of Subarnekha River and is the perfect place for weekend getaways.
• Rivers Meet – The meeting of the rivers Subarnekha and Domohani serves as a perfect picnic spot in the city of Jamshedpur. The place is surrounded by tall eucalyptus trees and verdant greenery which gives it an imposing serenity and calmness.
• Bhuvaneswari Temple – Popularly known as TELCO Bhuvaneswari Temple, Bhuvaneswari Temple is situated at a height of 500 metres near Kharangajhar Market in Jamshedpur. Enshrined by Ma Bhuvaneswari, the temple also has idols of other deities including Shiva, Krishna etc.
• JRD Tata Sports Complex – JRD TATA Sports Complex is the largest sports complex in the city. The compound is lately used for football and athletics mostly; however, it has facilities for archery, handball, martial arts, boxing, shooting, chess, yoga among others.
• Jayanti Sarovar – Jayanti Sarovar is a mesmerizing lake in Jamshedpur city. It is mostly used as a recreation spot. Besides, the premises have an amusement park for kids replete with slides, skating rings etc. The lake also has water fountains and flower beds to accentuate the beauty.
• Amadubi Rural Tourism Centre – Amadubi Rural Tourism Centre is a rural village and a tourist site in Jamshedpur. The tourists are taken around in decked bullock carts for sightseeing of the local tribal culture and artworks.
• Sir Dorabji Tata Park – Sir Dorabji Tata Park was built by Tata Steel and is dedicated to Russi Modi. The park was earlier called Modi Parke. Later it was named after Sir Dorabji Tata, son of Jamshedji Tata and a massive statue of Sir Dorabji Tata was installed in the park.
• Golpahari Temple – Located on the outskirts of Jamshedpur city, Golpahari Temple is perched on a hilltop. The Golpahari Temple is dedicated to Pahari Ma or Goddess of Mountains. The temple can be reached through a flight of 100 steps and offers a mesmerizing view of the city below.
• Jubilee Lake – Jubilee Lake is a beautiful lake in Jamshedpur city surrounded by a laser light auditorium and a zoo, all of which are managed by Tata Steel. The lake facilitates boating and fishing and is a popular tourist spot in the city.

• By Flight – Jamshedpur can be reached by flight. The public airport of Jamshedpur is called Sonari Airport. Currently, the only flights available are unscheduled chartered flights from Kolkata. However, most tourists prefer to fly to Birsa Munda Airport in Ranchi, which is 130 km away and Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport, which is 292 km away.
• By Train – Tatanagar Railway Station is the main railway station serving the city of Jamshedpur, if you are planning to reach Jamshedpur via train. The route is well-connected to various cities across India such as Mumbai, Delhi, Amritsar, Jammu, Kolkata, Ahmedabad, etc.

• Chilka Roti – Chilka Roti is a dish which is prepared using rice flour and besan. It is prepared in the households during festive seasons and special occasions and is enjoyed along with chana dal chutney. The dish is quite similar to the South Indian dish, Dosa, yet it has a distinct flavour.
• Dhuska –Dhuska is a common food in Jharkhand. It is deep fried rice flour pancakes that is served with gram curry and potato.
• Handia – A very prevalent drink in the state of Jharkhand, Handia is a rice beer which is prepared by the local community. It is made from the ranu tablet which is a combination of 20-25 herbs, which is mixed with boiled rice and left to ferment.
• Litti Chokha – Litti is a very famous food item in the state of Jharkhand and is savored by the locals. It can be paired with a number of accomplaniments and is eaten with Yoghurt, Baigan Bharta (Chokha), Aloo Bharta or Papad.
• Mitha Khaja – Refined wheat flour with sugar is made into layered dough, with or without dry fruit or other stuffing, and lightly fried in oil to make khaja.

• Karma Dance – The dance form of karma derives its name from a tree by the same name. It is considered sacred by locals as it is expected to bring good luck and prosperity. The tree is planted during the festival of karma in the month of August. The dance is performed during this festival by both men and women.
• Janani Jhumar – Janani Jhumar is a popular folk dance performed by tribals mostly during the harvest season. This dance form is performed by the womenfolk of Jharkhand and is a major attraction of the karma festival. The festival is celebrated with great fervor in Jharkhand during the Hindu calendar month of Bhadrapad.
• Chhau Dance – Chhau is one of the most famous dance forms in the country andis derived from Sanskrit word, ‘chhaya’ meaning mask, image or shade. The dance form is semi-classical and is inspired from martial, tribal and folk traditions. This dance form is performed in three different styles in the states of Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha and West Bengal.
• Bamboo Works – Being a natural reservoir of bamboo, Jharkhand is famed for its unique bamboo products. The tribal people of Jharkhand have been using bamboo to make daily use products like baskets, vases, fishing equipment and other decorative items since ancient times. The tribes of the state have mastered the art of making exquisite items using bamboo and cane.
